Installation And Setup Guide For DRBD, OpenAIS, Pacemaker + Xen On OpenSUSE 11.1 | HowtoForge - Linux Howtos and Tutorials

The following will install and configure DRBD, OpenAIS, Pacemaker and Xen on OpenSUSE 11.1 to provide highly-available virtual machines. This setup does not utilize Xen's live migration capabilities. Instead, VMs will be started on the secondary node as soon as failure of the primary is detected. Xen virtual disk images are replicated between nodes using DRBD and all services on the cluster will be managed by OpenAIS and Pacemaker. The following setup utilizes DRBD 8.3.2 and Pacemaker 1.0.4. It is important to note that DRBD 8.3.2 has come a long way since previous versions in terms of compatibility with Pacemaker. In particular, a new DRBD OCF resource age

Annvix is a free secure Linux-based operating system produced by the Annvix development team and Danen Consulting Services. The Annvix project aims to provide a secure, stable, and fast Linux distribution specifically tailored to servers that provide reliable services such as Email, Web, DNS, FTP, File sharing, and more. The philosophy behind Annvix is security and reliability, and to that end we incorporate projects such as runit for always-on services, socklog for secure and reliable logging, RSBAC for enhanced kernel-level security, and many other custom tools and various software packages. The Annvix footprint is small, a typical default install for a LAMP server is under 400MB in size and every effort is made for the operating system to be lean, use less memory and disk space, to provide maximum functionality and utilize resources without introducing unnecessary bloat. Annvix is freely available from our FTP mirrors. The current release is 3.0-RELEASE which was released on Decem

Puppet Augeas - puppet - Trac

Augeas is a lovely tool that treats config files (well, anything really, but it's mostly about config files) as trees of values. You then modify the tree as you like, and write the file back. This is basically the solution to the problem of dealing with upstream configuration changes combined with local modifications: you can allow the upstream changes through and then apply changes with Augeas to the new version.

genome - Trac

Genome is a set of tools that allow system administrators and application developers to easily provisions systems, bootstrap servers, and collaborate on system configuration. Genome does all this by lacing together some of the best open source projects available on Fedora

ISconf - Trac

ISconf can be thought of as a cross between sudo(8) and a distributed version control tool like Git or Bitkeeper. Changes you make via ISconf are journaled and added to a distributed repository, queuing them for execution on other target machines. Those other target machines do not need to be running, or even be built, at the time you check in changes. As you turn on, build, reboot, and/or run 'isconf up' on other machines, ISconf consults the journal and executes the same changes, in the same order, on each machine. The ISconf architecture is completely peer-to-peer; there are no central servers or other single points of failure, and it is designed for use in partially-partitioned networks such as DMZ environments. The command-line client talks to a daemon which runs on each machine. The daemon, usually started at boot, handles distributed file storage, locking, and network communications. ISconf is not intended for use in environments where you want to make manual, ad-hoc, or other
